Edinburgh plum and vanilla GinOverview

  • Distiller: Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd
  • Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 20%
  • Country: Scotland

The Bottle

It’s the ultra dark content that allows this simple squat bottle design to really stand out.

The Gin

Edinburgh Plum and Vanilla Gin is created by infusing plums and Madagascan vanilla together with Edinburgh’s Original Gin. It is delightfully rich stone fruit flavours that makes it the perfect base for cocktails.

Technically this is not a Gin as its only 20% ABV, although its rightfully named a ‘Gin liqueur’ on the bottle. Should that put you off? Ummm, let me think… NO!!

Known Botanicals

Juniper, orange peel, lavender, mulberries, pine buds, lemongrass, scottish plums, madagascan vanilla

Best Served

Edinburgh Plum and Vanilla Gin liqueur is best served as a Cocktail 🙂

Option 1: Add a shot (25ml) into a glass of champagne.
Option 2: Create the mind blowingly fabulous ‘Soor Plum’ Cocktail (see below)

Plum Sour Cocktail

(Instructions from Edinburgh Gin’s website).

  • 25ml Plum & Vanilla Liqueur
  • 25ml Edinburgh Gin
  • 25ml Lemon Juice
  • 1 Egg white

Dry shake ingredients together, shake again with cubed ice, double strain into rocks glass, then serve with a plum wedge.

A delightful and versatile Gin Liqueur that’s well worth adding to your collection, especially good if you are having a cocktail night.
